The Federal Public Defender presents a brown bag lunch via ZOOM Video Conferencing. This presentation will explore the defense of drug importation cases, including duress and blind mule defenses, jury instructions and the use of experts. It will include a review of the federal drug statutes, including mandatory minimums, 851 enhancements, safety valve and substantial assistance motions. Practical application of the guidelines in drug cases will be reviewed, including base offense challenges, importation enhancements, mitigating role, career offender and imperfect duress.

 

The State Bar of Texas MCLE Department has approved this seminar for 1.0 hours of CLE credit (Course No. 174101502).
